Jan. 3- Vancouver to Hong Kong

We arrived at YVR at 11 pm and waited until 3:05 am to board the plane. We were the last passengers on because of a bathroom break and problems with our boarding pass. The flight was 13 1/2 hrs long and overall it was uneventful. Michael and I slept the whole way and I was very very happy that I sat next to a polite and petite Chinese woman!

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of walking from one end of the HK airport to the other - I recommend you wear good walking shoes. It took 20 mins for us to get from our gate to the hotel half way across the airport. We’re staying at the Regal Airport Hotel in Hong Kong. It’s a very chic place with l’Octaine bath products, a flatscreen TV, and an iPod speaker stereo to name a few things. The room is about 150 sq. ft., but is tasteful with modern décor. There are still Christmas decorations all over the place (maybe left up until after Chinese New Year?)...
